Bar study makes life brighter

Doing things that suck can really makes mundane things...awesome.

I won't lie, preparing for the bar sucks. It's not so hard to learn as it is just to stay focused. I liked law school and thought it was interesting. But this bar prep stuff is not interesting--at all. I study for it quite a bit. I am grateful that it does, however, make sunny days brighter (outside my window); food taste better (far from a library); sleep last longer (more sleep = less study = more smile); friends more interesting (because they aren't test questions); women prettier (because they aren't test questions);

I abide with hope that the next two weeks shall pass (quickly). Meanwhile, to keep my spirits up, here are some great things that have happened in the last little while:
1) At dinner, Grandma slaps a 'misquito' off of her guest's forehead; finds out the misquito is surgical stitches from a recent accident. Ouch.

2) My (shrinking) trendy Armani jeans with distinguished (read: expensive) holes in the legs split at the buns while I bent over to pick up a ball out of the miniature golf hole. It was on the first hole. 1 hole done, 17 more to go with split pants. Was it a date? Yep. Smooth. Was it a first date? Uh huh. Smoother.

3) My niece Belle, who is almost 2 was playing in Grandma's backyard. She ran up to Grandma to show her a potato bug in her hand. The poor bug was scrambling to survive when grandma reached over into Bella's palm and poked it -- the potato bug quickly curled into its little armoured ball and rolled back into the center of Belle's palm. "awesome" whispered a fully engaged 22 month-old Bella.

I agree Belle, awesome.

4. Travelled to Southern Utah to go camping in Zions three weeks ago. Upon stopping for gas in Cedar city I discovered that I'd forgotten my wallet in Salt Lake City. And my cards. And my checkbook, and my cash. Yup. No cash, no check. No gas. 2 hrs to meet friends at the park entrance. 75 Miles to Zions park. Screwed and all alone in Cedar City.
Luckly, Zions Bank took pity--and upon disclosing all of my personal information--let me pull out some cash from my account. That could've ended badly.
Then today, travelling to a business lunch on the other side of town, again I stop for gas. Again this moron forgot his wallet. Again tank is nearly empty. Again near a Zions bank. Again they have mercy.
I can't make this stuff up. I'm helpless.

5. Utter boredom and hostility over practice exam questions provoked a 1 hr and 33 minute, 10.7 mile run. I've never run that far before and never ran for that long. Wasn't even tired or sore afterward (except my poor nipples--which were rubbed raw--ouch). yay me. That's 7.133 mph. If I get up to running 8.3 mph I finish a marathon in under 3 hrs...a guy thinks about these important issues whilst preparing for the bar.
6. I've added 13 new facebook friends in two weeks! That's a record. If the facebook website ever fails...so fails life's meaning.
7. I have called Sallie twice in the past two weeks just to chat and get away from the books (i even left a message once). She was pretty surprised. So am I. My pride faileth within the iron grip of Sir Drudgery.

Why are you going private? You will sorely disappoint many amused visitors - can I be included in your private circle? :) I love your blogs, I'm always assured a laugh out loud! PS You can always call me when you're bored! Oh, how do you manage on your own? You need a very on the ball secretary - maybe Becky?? :)

you were bored? I'm not answering anymore! I think gramma has slapped my forehead attempting to get a misquito, I think she missed. Why she can't wave it away, I wonder. YAY the bar is over!

Love your blogs. You are a terrific writer with the ability to have you readers live the moment you are describing. I would love the priviledge of being on your list. As far as the fee goes-- just keep the tab running one day we will settle up. Kristie
